What Drives greater Power Fitness

Hey! My name is AJ Haynes with Greater Power Fitness! I'm not sure what brought you here today, but my personal goal as a Fitness Professional is to help people get and give more in life by enhancing their health and fitness.  And as a Christian, husband, father, son, friend, brother, coach, neighbor, and employee, I believe my own personal health and well-being is essential to uphold in order to perform at my best in the different roles and identities I fill throughout my life. So whether it's being able to lift heavy furniture around the house for my wife, having the energy to run outside with children, being a healthy role model for my family or just simply being emotionally and physically able  to help others, that's my goal. And really at the end of the day, after all the weight is lost, all the mass is gained, all the speed, strength, and power has been developed, doesn't it all eventually come back to our day to day lives and who we care about?  This is the concept that drives Greater Power Fitness & Wellness.

My Story

AJ Haynes, NASM - CPT, PES

I am married to my beautiful, intelligent and sweet wife, Jenny.  We have two spirited, lively and cute little girls named Faith and Hope.  These ladies are truly blessings and sources of inspiration to me.  I come form a military family, but am a native of and spent most of my life in Clarksville, TN.  I graduated from Clarksville High School, and am a proud of alumni of the school's wrestling program.  I have an agricultural degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and worked in the agricultural industry for a few years after graduating.  However, in 2010, I was living in Huntsville, AL, and was recruited to instruct group fitness classes for a gym.  I absolutely loved the feeling I would get from coaching and empowering others in a fitness setting, and in a couple years, I decided to pursue fitness as a full-time career.  I moved around a bit after graduating from college, but returned with my family to Clarksville in the summer of 2018.  My wife and I decided this was the area that we wanted to raise our children in, but also I wanted to help some of my other family members get in better health, as well as pour back into the Clarksville and surrounding communities.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Over the past almost twelve years, I have had the opportunity to serve as a Private and Semi-Private Trainer, International DVD Presenter and Trainer for MOSSA, corporate Health and Fitness Specialist, Group Fitness Instructor, train and develop new Fitness Trainers and volunteered in fitness capacities as well.  I currently have the privilege to serve others as a Fitness Presenter/Trainer for MOSSA and Membership Director at the Hopkinsville YMCA.  The people I have worked with range from elementary school aged children to adults in their mid 80s.  My experience includes helping others with goals that have included weight loss, mass building, athletic performance, getting off of medication for chronic diseases enhanced core strength and balance, and rehab for injury and post surgery.

In my down time, I enjoy relaxing and adventuring with my family, grilling, listening to almost all genres of music, road and trail running, weight lifting and reading up on both fitness and self-development.  I also am a volunteer with my church, The Food Initiative, and enjoy supporting and volunteering for non-profits that benefit hunger, homelessness and youth. At least 10% of proceeds from my services will be donated monthly to a local non profit.
